1. I'm encountering a dataSource error code while attempting to transform data in Power BI. How can I resolve this issue?

If you come across a dataSource error code while working with data transformation in Power BI, don't worry! This error is relatively common and can be resolved by following these three steps:

Step 1: Navigate to File > Options and settings > Data source settings.
This will open the Data Source Settings window, where you can manage your data sources.

Step 2: Identify the specific data source mentioned in the error code and select it.
In the Data Source Settings window, locate the path or name of the data source that triggered the error.

Step 3: Click on the "Change Source..." button.
Once you've selected the problematic data source, click on the "Change Source..." button to initiate the process of updating the data source.

Step 4: Locate and select the correct data file on your computer.
In the subsequent window, browse through your computer's directories to find the correct data file associated with the data source. Select the file and click "Open" or "OK" to update the data source.

2. Do I need to create an account before using PowerBI?

No, you can start using Power BI without creating an account. Power BI Desktop, the free version, provides all the functionalities needed for the course. Simply download and install Power BI Desktop on your computer to explore data, create visualizations, and build reports.

3. When transforming data, my decimal value columns aren't displaying the correct decimal separators. How can I fix this issue?

If you're encountering issues with decimal separators while transforming data in Power BI, don't worry. You can resolve this problem by following these steps:

Step 1: Delete all previous "Change datatype.." steps.
In the Power Query Editor window, locate and select all previous "Change datatype.." steps related to the problematic column.

Step 2: Select "Using locale.." when choosing a datatype for the column.
In the Power Query Editor, select the column that requires the correct decimal separators. Right-click on the column header and choose "Change Type" or "Detect Data Type." In the data type options, select "Using locale.." instead of the default selection.

Step 3: Choose "Decimal number" and "English (United States)."
In the subsequent options, select "Decimal number" as the desired data type and choose "English (United States)" as the locale. This ensures that the decimal separators are aligned with the expected format.

Now you should be able to display the correct decimal separators in your decimal value columns during data transformation in Power BI.
